Laurence Frishman, Financial Planner at LJF Financial, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of financial consulting.
Prior to embarking on his professional path, Mr. Frishman attended Valley Forge Military Academy, Taylor Allderdice High School and the Carnegie Institute of Technology School of Architecture between 1956 and 1959. Soon thereafter, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1961 and later a Master of Public Administration in 1975 from the University of Pittsburgh. He began his career as a planner for the City of Pittsburgh in 1962, further accepting the position of a housing specialist and community organizer of the Hill House Association in Pittsburgh in 1965. After three years, Mr. Frishman became a planning consultant and senior associate for Barton-Aschman Associates Inc., in Chicago, Illinois, between 1968 and 1974.
As he advanced through his profession, Mr. Frishman served as an economic development specialist for the State of Illinois for a year, later contributing as the director of planning for the cities of Peoria, Illinois, and Albuquerque, New Mexico, from 1975 to 1980. Moreover, he worked as a financial planner for FFP Securities Inc., in Miami, Florida, for five years, later flourishing in the same role with his own financial services firm, LJF Financial, since 1990. Achievements to Mr. Frishman’s credit include developing and consulting on Enterprise Management systems for the planning, development, and building of urban projects throughout major cities.
A veteran, Mr. Frishman served in the United States Air Force from 1952 until his honorable discharge in 1956. While director of planning for the city of Peoria, Illinois, he served as vice president of the Illinois chapter of the American Planning Association between 1976 and 1979. In light of his exceptional undertakings, he has received fellowships such as a National Defense Foreign Language Fellowship, Richard King Mellon Fellowship, and the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development Fellowship to pursue his graduate studies at Yale Graduate School and at the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs of the University of Pittsburgh. Furthermore, he has been honored with an Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Award and was featured in the 30th Edition of Who’s Who in Finance and Industry.
