Title: Board Chairman
Company: WORKNET, INC.
Location: Florissant, Missouri, United States
Larry Brown, Board Chairman at WORKNET, INC., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in disability advocacy.
Passionate about helping others, Mr. Brown became involved in his profession because he wants to help others be independent and have agency as well as financial independence. He realizes that of the eleven million people with disabilities receiving monthly stipends from the government, many of those people would love the opportunity to return to work, earn more income, and live a better quality of life. In order to help them, Mr. Brown has been the owner as well as chairman of the board of WORKNET Inc. since 2009, where he specializes in helping people with disabilities and employers who wish to hire them. Before this endeavor, he was the Founding President of Grace Chapel Ministries from 1981 to 2014 and president of both the National Cable Training Center from 1980 to 1984 and of Woodstock Industrial Products Group from 1974 to 1980. Additionally, Mr. Brown worked as the executive director of the Interracial Council for Business Opportunity from 1972 to 1974 and the Midwest regional director of labor affairs for the National Urban League from 1970 to 1972.
In preparation for his career, Mr. Brown earned a Bachelor of Education from Harris-Stowe State University in 1963. He continued his studies in both education administration at the University of Nebraska Graduate School and in labor studies at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Due to his success and efforts, he was presented with an honorary Doctor of Philosophy in humane letters from Tarkio College in 1986. As one who has consistently tried to help others achieve their best potential, Dr. Brown remains deeply concerned with understanding his industry and his clients. He remains grateful for the opportunity to help others and, as a testament to his success, has been lauded with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.
