Jack Papageorgis has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in business.
An award-winning executive with humble beginnings in business, Mr. Papageorgis is proof that hard work and persistence can lead to lasting success and a professional legacy. Mr. Papageorgis came to the United States as a high school drop out that did not know how to speak English. He began working at this uncle’s hot dog stand, Libby’s Lunch, as a general helper in 1951. While there, he not only learned to speak English, but he learned the lesson of hard work and job satisfaction over the course of 11 years. To support his growing career in the U.S., Mr. Papageorgis decided to complete his education, which now includes a Bachelor of Science and an MBA from Seton Hall University, as well as a second MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. When asked of his success, Mr. Papageorgis owes his accomplishments to a blend of his education and the encouragement he received from his friend Denis Kapas. Years after completing his education, Mr. Papageorgis took over his uncle’s business as president of Libby’s. Mr. Papageorgis is proud to have brought a new business perspective to his uncle’s legacy to continually grow its popularity in the Paterson, New Jersey, region.
In addition to his outstanding work with Libby’s, Mr. Papageorgis has been successful in several noteworthy civic roles. He has been a food service associate for Sodexo-Marriott at William Paterson University, family service specialist III for the Division of Youth and Family Services and officer of the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department. In recognition of his professional excellence in all his endeavors, Mr. Papageorgis was the recipient of an Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award, a 25th Anniversary Award from the American Hellenic Progressive Association and an award from Sodexo Incorporated. Looking ahead, Mr. Papageorgis intends to work toward continued success in his career.
