He has contributed to his industry through multiple career-related programs and initiatives outside of his full-time work. Notably, Mr. Garrison was the director of the International Cemetery and Funeral Association (now the International Cemetery, cremation & Funeral Association). With this organization, he has worked on many committees over the years, including the historical cemetery advisory committee, the strategic planning committee, and the membership committee. Mr. Garrison’s success is a product of his experience and his education. He holds a Master of Science in management from Case Western Reserve University, a Master of Social Work from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Ohio Wesleyan University. He is a certified cemetery executive and an accredited personnel manager. Also, Mr. Garrison is distinguished by the Academy of Certified Social Workers and the National Association of Social Workers.

Today, he is the trustee of “Rebuilding Together,” in Northeast Ohio, member of the national religious relationship committee and central region board for the Boy Scouts of America, and founder and trustee of the East Cleveland Township Cemetery Foundation. Previously, he co-founded the Greater Cleveland Scouting Foundation and served as a member of many organizations, including the East Cleveland Parks Association, the task force on national cub scout character connections of the Boy Scouts of America, the Center for Families and Children, the Alta House, the Cuyahoga County Reach Out Counseling Services, the agricultural business advisory committee of the Cleveland Municipal Schools, and many others.
