Edward Manley, Food Safety and Management Trainer, Professional Association Administrator, and Veteran’s Charity Founder, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the fields of food safety, administration, and charity.
Always interested in helping others, Mr. Manley enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1959 and got his start in the food service industry with the military. He was the assistant food service director of the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, before serving as food service director of the Naval Hospital in Annapolis, Maryland, and ultimately the food service director, of the Naval Regional Medical Center in Orlando, Florida. He held these roles and through the ranks to earn the title of lieutenant commander in 1980, which is when he retired from his service with the U.S. Navy. Due to his excellence in food service, the U.S. Navy sent Mr. Manley to Cornell University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in hotel management in 1975 and later a Master of Science from Rollins College in 1978. He used his education and experience in the role of food service director at North Broward Hospital in Pompano Beach, Florida, from 1981 to 1989 and considers credits his time there as his favorite job and the one that brought him the most joy. Mr. Manley’s work in the food service department was about more than just food as he was able to create new opportunities for the hospital as well as building the positive reputation of the hospital.
In addition to his work in food service, Mr. Manley has established numerous organizations such as the Global Food Service Institute, the Military Culinary Competition, the Military Hospitality Alliance, the Veteran’s Support Network and Workaholics International Network, where he has been serving as founder since 1999. Mr. Manley is a member of the advisory board of the Mid-Florida Technical Food Service Program, the Atlantic Vo-Tech Dietetic Program and the Skills Standard Board of Hospitality and Tourism, and has also served as president of VIP Food Safety. As a testament to his success, he has been featured in the 35th edition of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, as well as multiple editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
