Elissa Myers, Executive Director at the Academy for Eating Disorders and Director of the Licensing Executives Society of US and Canada, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in management and operations.

Passionate about others as well as writing, Ms. Myers has spent her career in various leadership roles. She matriculated at George Mason University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts, both in English literature, and holds is a Certified Association Executive from the Institute for Organization Management. Following her undergraduate graduation in 1972, she assumed employment as a staff writer with the American Society of Association Executives and played a key role in building the organization into the important international professional society that it became. She was one of the first dozen employees upon her initial employment and help the company achieve an annual income of more than 26 million dollars, a membership rate exceeding 20,000 members, and a staff of 125 people. She held various roles within the company including director of research & information, vice president and director of member services, and ultimately vice president and publisher of the organization before taking her talents to the Electronic Retailing Association as the president and CEO from 1997 to 2003.

Presently, Ms. Myers utilizes her organization, management, and interpersonal skills to help others as the director of the Licensing Executives Society of the U.S. and Canada and executive director of the Academy for Eating Disorders. Furthermore, she leads orientation and training seminars and retreats for various professional organizations in order to help maximize revenue and efficiency. In addition to her professional endeavors, Ms. Myers has long-fostered her love for writing. Her novel “Tales of the Bingo Ladies” revolves around her mother and her mother’s friends. As a testament to her success, Ms. Myers has been named First International Association Visionary of Marketing Challenges and honored for Lifetime Service Award with the Ravensworth Civic Association.
