Patricia L. Highcove, CRC, CCM, CVE, CIES, Vocational Consultant at Highcove Consulting, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in rehabilitation.

Ms. Highcove became involved in her profession after gaining experience working with developmentally-disabled children. She matriculated at Syracuse University where she earned her BS in rehabilitation services in 1981 and her MS in rehabilitation counseling in 1982. While earning her Master’s degree she was a student assistant at the Vocational Assessment and Career Center in 1982. After completing her higher education, Ms. Highcove became certified as a vocational educator in 1983, a rehabilitation counselor in 1987, a case manager in 1990 and as an ergonomic assessment specialist in 2016.

The most gratifying aspect of Ms. Highcove’s career is being able to help others. She attributes her success to her passion for her work. She started her profession as a vocational evaluator at Merrimack Valley Rehabilitation Center from 1982 to 1983. She then moved on to Alliance, Inc. where she was a counselor and evaluator from 1983 to 1984. From there, Ms. Highcove became a rehabilitation specialist IV, for the division of rehabilitation services at the Maryland Rehabilitation Center from 1984 to 1986 before moving on to Intracorp Companies. She was at Intracorp Companies from 1986 to 1997 where she worked as a rehabilitation specialist, a field service manager and a territory director. In 1997, she became a senior executive at the Guilford Group, LLC until 2001 when she moved on to become an independent consultant at Highcove consulting, where she remains today.

As a testament to her success, Ms. Highcove has been inducted as a board member of the Chesapeake Association of Rehabilitation Professionals in the Private Sector. She was also the president of that organization. She is a member of the board of directors at Kids’ Chance of Maryland, Inc. and a member of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals. Ms. Highcove also is a supporter of the Special Olympics. Furthermore, she has been included in the 71st edition of Who’s Who in America. In her spare time, Ms. Highcove likes to spend time with her children, read, travel and listen to music.
