For the last four decades, Mr. Savage has demonstrated an expertise in investing, financial planning and corporate fringe benefits. He is a member of the Million Dollar Round Table, a chartered life underwriter (CLU) and a chartered financial consultant (ChEC). Although now retired, he led his team at Savage & Associates Inc. in Toledo, Ohio, for 43 years as its president. Throughout his time at the helm of the firm, it had an incredible reputation for providing professional work with integrity and a customized experience for every client and has been included in the The Toledo Blade’s list of Top Work Places for two years in a row.
Mr. Savage entered his profession under the influence of his father and brother, who advised that he major in finance at the local university for his undergraduate studies. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Toledo in 1959 and quickly established himself as an emerging leader in his field. In recognition of his professional excellence, Mr. Savage was the recipient of an Outstanding Philanthropists Award from the northwest Ohio chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, a College of Business Administration and Innovation Pacemaker Award, the Gold T Award from the University of Toledo, a Hospital Planning Distinguished Service Award from St. Vincent Hospital, and a University Toledo Pacemaker Award. In addition, Mr. Savage was named Outstanding Young Man of the Year and received an honorary doctoral degree from the University of Toledo. As he looks ahead to the future, Mr. Savage intends to enjoy his well-earned retirement while advising on projects in his field.
