Kenneth Glass, Chairman at Stony Point Group, Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in engineering.
Always interested in engineering, Mr. Glass earned a Mechanical Engineering Degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1963 and a Master of Science in aerospace engineering from the institution in 1965. He synthesized his skills with his interest in business and manufacturing and in his late 20s, he had the opportunity to travel to Europe and run manufacturing plants with Allis Chalmers Manufacturing Company. Mr. Glass has taken his knowledge of business, technical, financial and manufacturing structuring to various organizations such as Massey-Ferguson Inc., where he worked as the president, chief executive officer, vice president and general manager of North America Operations. Furthermore, he has been the chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Union Metal Manufacturing Co. before establishing the turnaround firm Glass & Associates Inc. in 1985 and holding the roles of president and chairman. He sold the successful business to another firm in Chicago and presently, Mr. Glass is the chairman of Stony Point Group, Inc., and has been in this role since 2005.
In addition to this main pursuit, Mr. Glass serves as chairman for NWI Holdings, TECT Corporation, UCA Holdings, Utica Corporation, and Camel Manufacturing. Mr. Glass created his reputation as a successful engineering and manufacturing executive by helping manufacturing facilities and companies that were failing or bankrupt. He has saved well over 200 companies, consequently saving hundreds of people their jobs. Widely recognized for his success, Mr. Glass earned a Lifetime Achievement Award for Engineering from the University of Cincinnati as well as the Federal Aviation Administration Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award due to his excellence as a licensed airline transport pilot and certified turnaround professional. He shares his knowledge with others by contributing articles to various professional journals and has contributed to Forbes as well. Mr. Glass is also the chairman of the Glass Foundation, a philanthropic foundation based out of Ashville, North Carolina, that contributes to 401C3 nonprofits in the area focused mainly in western North Carolina and everywhere they have a manufacturing facility.
