Jerry Adams, Retired Crop Specialist and Owner of JLA Consulting Service Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in agricultural science.
Inspired by his father and grandfather’s past occupations as farmers, Mr. Adams made the decision to follow in their footsteps. Prior to the start of his career, he pursued a formal education at Southeast Missouri State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in 1968. Upon the completion of his degree, he began working for the Union Carbide Agricultural Company in Columbia, South Carolina, where he served as a sales representative from 1972 to 1986. Soon thereafter, Mr. Adams joined Rhone Poulenc Agricultural Company as an agricultural specialist, where he worked from 1986 to 1999. Leveraging his experience, he was subsequently hired by Aventis Crop Science as an agricultural specialist, and in 2006, he accepted a position as a crop specialist at Bayer Crop Science, where he worked from 2006 until his retirement in 2011. Currently, Mr. Adams serves as the owner of JLA Consulting Service Inc.
In the past, Mr. Adams enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served from 1968 until his honorable discharge in 1972. For his accomplishments as an agricultural scientist, he received the Agrinaut Award from the National Agricultural Aviation Association. As a further testament to his success, experience, and stature, Mr. Adams was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who’s Who in the South and Southwest and Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America. In an effort to remain aware of changes in the field, he maintains an affiliation with the South Carolina Pesticide Association and the South Carolina Agricultural Aviation Association.
