Jon Kalina, Chief Executive Officer of Peeled Snacks, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in fruit and vegetable snack sales.
Mr. Kalina is a results-oriented executive with experience in directing sales, marketing and operations for many premier manufacturers and distributors, with a specialty in the category of snacks. With expertise in securing, training and managing highly performing sales and broker teams nationally, it is evident that his work has lead to ongoing success for the businesses he has worked with. He possesses extensive experience in managing multiple distributors, including DSD, specialty and natural, as well as warehousing operations, and inventory control. Furthermore, Mr. Kalina is consistent with keeping a record of organizing, implementing and closing sales to enhance company profitability.
Mr. Kalina has served as the CEO of Peeled Snacks since 2017. In this respect, he is responsible for all aspects of the business. He improved general management by nine full points in the first year and was recruited to take the company from under $10 million to $30 million in under four years. Mr. Kalina also consolidated 13 brokers into two brokers and was responsible for implementing a new ERP system for the company. He has prior experience in the field of business as the vice president of sales at Blue Marble Brands, the senior vice president of sales at Seasons’ Enterprises, as the director of national accounts for Kettle Foods, as a sales manager at Bin Sales and Marketing and as an account executive and category management for Kuehn Prewitt Rufer.
Throughout his career, Mr. Kalina has always relied on his hard work and perseverance for success. In addition, he credits his education as providing a strong foundation for his line of work. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in business management and economics at Rockford Business College in 1991. Mr. Kalina became involved in his profession because he was in the food industry his entire life and prior to joining his current company, he spent 11 years garnering experience at Blue Marble Brands. His dad spent 33 years at Coca-Cola and a lot of his family worked for retailers. He thinks it’s in his blood and when he was exposed to the natural organic side of it he found that no matter what happened to the economy people would want to eat and lead healthier lifestyles. He was drawn in by that and what it stood for and enjoyed the food aspect. Mr. Kalina fully believes in his work and endeavors to continue building the company.
