Terry Bos, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Sault Ste. Marie Airport Development Corporation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in airport administration.
Mr. Bos prepared for his career at Algoma University in Canada, where he graduated with a BBA in 1997. After garnering experience as a laborer for Algoma Steel Incorporated, he began his career with the Sault Ste. Marie Airport Development Corporation in 1999. Initially, he leveraged his business and marketing background to help the company write a business plan, and after his success in this task, the airport retained him as a marketing employee. Mr. Bos held multiple roles with the company including serving as the finance manager and the airport manager, and currently, he acts as the president, chief executive officer and accountable executive.
Since 2006, Mr. Bos has been a member of the International Association of Airport Executives Canada (IAAE Canada), and in 2014, he was named an accredited airport executive by the organization. During his tenure with the Sault Ste. Marie Airport Development Corporation, the passenger levels have increased from less than 125,000 to a record of more than 210,000 in 2017. Mr. Bos attributes his success to his dedication and hard work, as well as to his love of learning and applying his new knowledge in his career. For his success, he has been recognized with a Distinguished Alumni Award from Algoma University in Sault Ste. Marie.
In addition to his primary professional pursuits, Mr. Bos joined the Airport Management Council of Ontario (AMCO) in 2010. He acted as the organization’s treasurer, the chair of the board of directors, and the president, and thus far he is the only president to serve the maximum four year term limit. In 2017, he held the position as the vice-chair of IAAE Canada, and in the same year the organization achieved its highest number of newly certified members since its inception. In 2019, Mr. Bos accepted the post of the chair of IAAE Canada, and in the coming years, he plans to continue his work for the Sault Ste. Marie Airport Development Corporation.
