Semih Zaim, Retired Company Executive at Zaim Associates has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in chemical engineering.
A native of Bursa, Turkey, Mr. Zaim was initially encouraged by his high school teacher to pursue a career in chemistry. Upon graduating from the University of Istanbul, he joined the Turkish Army in 1949, and later the Turkish Air Force. While serving in the military, he signed a research contract with the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in the United States working with jet fuels. During this time, he earned a Masters in chemical engineering from the University of Istanbul. After resigning from the Air Force in 1962, Mr. Zaim assumed employment with the Polysar Company in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, as a research chemist for the R&D Division for seven years. Soon thereafter, he began working as a senior research chemist for the Texus Research Center in Parsippany, New Jersey, from 1969 to 1976, later accepting the position of a supervisor with the Essex Chemical Company in Sayreville, New Jersey, between 1976 and 1981.
From 1981 to 1992, Mr. Zaim served as the vice president of the Process Research Products division of Chessco Industries in Trenton, New Jersey. Moreover, he excelled as the president of Zaim Associates in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, until his retirement. In addition to primary endeavors, he also contributed as a consultant for the United Nations Development Program in 1979 and 1981. Achievements to his credit include owning patents in the field. As a testament to his success, Mr. Zaim served as a NATO Research fellow with the Carde Research Laboratory, between 1961 and 1962. Likewise, he has been selected for inclusion in several editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Industry.
