Raymond Wareham, a Vice Chairman at Rockefeller Capital Management, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in finance.
Originally interested in computer science engineering which he pursued during his undergraduate years, Mr. Wareham’s interests shifted after he served in the United States Navy from 1970 to 1973 and returned to business school. While he initially earned a Bachelor of Science (with distinction) in industrial engineering and computer science from Northwestern University in 1970, when he completed his military service, he earned an MBA from Harvard University in 1975. Mr. Wareham cites the fact that while at Harvard, he found himself attracted to a financial markets career because the work was sophisticated, quantitative, global and would allow him the opportunity to live and travel extensively overseas.
Upon earning an MBA, Mr. Wareham joined JP Morgan and worked for the financial company for more than two decades. During his time with the organization, he was located in Tokyo, London, and New York, and he held a variety of different client-facing roles in corporate banking, underwriting and corporate finance. Following JP Morgan, he worked for Sanford C. Bernstein /Alliance Capital as a senior portfolio manager and Senior Managing Director in the private client group. He has been with Rockefeller Capital Management (formerly Rockefeller & Co.) since 2012, currently as part of the Global Family Office Group. Throughout his career, Mr. Wareham has served in a number of not-for-profit leadership positions, most notably at the American School in Japan, and the Spence School in New York, as well as maintaining affiliation with a variety of other professional and social organizations.
