Doris Rapp, Director of the Bethel College Counseling Center, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in psychology.
Inspired by her son, who has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and dyspraxia, Dr. Rapp began taking classes to better understand his issues. She graduated from New Mexico State University with a Bachelor of Science in 1972, further becoming a certified health service provider in psychology in the state of Indiana. Subsequently, she assumed employment with the Gadsen Independent School District in Gadsen, New Mexico, as a teacher between 1972 and 1973. Soon thereafter, Dr. Rapp joined the Kettering City School District as a teacher from 1973 to 1976, before accepting a similar role with Huntington Independent School District for a year until 1977.
She went on to work as a teacher for the Beaufort County School District for a year, while securing a Master of Arts from Ball State University in 1981. Dr. Rapp completed her academic efforts with a Doctor of Philosophy from the aforementioned university in 1984, later becoming a psychologist Grant Blackford Mental Health for three years. As she progressed through her career, Dr. Rapp served a similar role with Taylor University for three years, before leaving to start her own private practice in Elkhart, Indiana.
Today, she continues to run her private practice while working as the director of Monday Morning Ministries as well as the Bethel College Counseling Center in Mishawaka. A respected voice in the field, Dr. Rapp has authored several novels in the field and has contributed as a speaker and radio personality on the topic of psychology. During her spare time, she enjoys singing, composing music, painting, exercising, traveling, and making snap jewelry.
