Rose Yarbrough, Retired Executive Vice President of Geo-Technical Associates, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in geology.

After more than 30 years of professional experience, Ms. Yarbrough retired in 1987, having concluded her career as the executive vice president of Geo-Technical Associates Incorporated. Prior to obtaining this role, she was a cartographer with the Defense Mapping Agency Aerospace Center from 1980 to 1987, where she was also a programmer analyst and quality assurance manager. She previously served as a teacher of secondary education earth science with Fort Zumwalt School District from 1978 to 1980 and Ferguson Florissant School District from 1974 to 1978. Earlier in her career, she was a supervisor of student union operations with Southern Illinois University from 1964 to 1970, a bookkeeper, secretary, and clerk for various companies from 1955 to 1964, and a cafeteria service principal with Highland High School in 1953.

Ms. Yarbrough first pursued her higher education at Southern Illinois University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in earth science and environmental sciences, magna cum laude. A respected voice in her areas of interest, Ms. Yarbrough has been affiliated with a number of professional organizations. She has served on the board of director of Prelude Civic Ballet Company and on the funding committee of the Youth Men’s Christian Association. She has also been active with Anderson Hospital and for school bond issues in Edwardsville, Illinois. She was appointed to the Friends Advisory Board in 1992 and served as a member, secretary and president until 2010.
