Gary L. Hubler, Owner of Gary’s Snack Shop, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in entrepreneurship.
At a young age, Mr. Hubler always maintained a busy schedule. During his years in high school, he participated in extracurricular activities through the Future Farmers of America. Upon graduating, he was recognized as the News Carrier of the Year by the Washington Evening Star Newspaper, an honor that involved traveling to the White House to meet with then-President Nixon in the Oval Office. Soon thereafter, he earned a Bachelor of Science in animal science from the University of Maryland. Immediately following his high school graduation, he was elected president of the Maryland State Association of the Future Farmers of America. . During his undergraduate years, he was selected and voted active membership into the professional fraternity Alpha Gamma Rho. With that, he was elected rush chairman for the years 1971 to 1972. With that office completed, he was then elected as the interfraternity council secretary from 1972 to 1973. For services rendered to the Greek system, he was awarded membership in the Gate and Key Society as well as the Kalegheos Society.
In 1995, Mr. Hubler became licensed by the State of Maryland in Food Safety Sanitation Management and certified by the county as a food safe sanitation handler. Today, he is the owner Gary’s Snack Shop – a popular eatery he has owned for more than 14 years. As owner and manager, Mr. Hubler prides himself on offering his customers quality food and drinks that are of high nutritional value. He hopes to expand his business and open a larger facility. He attributes his success to hard work, organizational skills and the training he received as a scientist.
Civically, Mr. Hubler has been an active supporter of the American Cancer Society. An exceptional Marquis listee, he has been the recipient of the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017. Now retired, Mr. Hubler spends most of his time of writing historical fiction, a hobby he has always enjoyed.
