Growing up, Mr. Kavaler was always fascinated by the news, public affairs, and journalism. These interests are what drove many of his career decisions, including those of his academic endeavors. He attended the University of Hartford, from where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in communication and a master’s in public administration. His education gave him the foundation to explore many different roles in his industry. From 1981 until 1997, Mr. Kavaler was a journalist with WPOP Newsradio. He enjoyed his work, as he was good at what he did. However, he ultimately felt himself being drawn to government work.
Mr. Kavaler took on government positions with a profound passion and drive, which is the reason for much of his success. He worked as the legislative liaison of communications for the Connecticut Office of the Lieutenant Governor for several years before he relocated to the Connecticut Office of the Attorney General. There, he was the director of policy and communication. He continued to advance through various roles in the industry, including director of communication for both the Connecticut Secretary of State and State Treasurer. He additionally spent several years teaching courses at the University of Hartford, which he enjoyed. However, Mr. Kavaler once again found himself being drawn elsewhere. In 2012, he became the managing principal of Express Strategies. Since then, he has continued to defy expectations in his role by bringing newfound success to the company every day.
