Keith Johnson, Proprietor of KJ Technical Directions, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Chemistry.
With more than 60 years of professional experience, Mr. Johnson has been the proprietor of KJ Technical Directions since 1976. In addition to his primary role, he held a number of positions with Norman Fox and Company, including vice chair and chief technical officer from 2003 to 2005, president from 1993 to 2003, executive vice president from 1989 to 1993, director from 1989 to 2003, general manager from 1988 to 1993, branch manager from 1983 to 1988, and technical director from 1982 to 1983. He holds 17 United States and foreign patents and he has 25 scientific publications in chemistry.
Mr. Johnson previously held a number of positions with Swift and Company, including quality assurance manager from 1983 to 1982, quality assurance director from 1974 to 1978, administrative assistant to the executive vice president from 1971 to 1972, group leader of the research and development center from 1967 to 1971, project manager from 1963 to 1967, and research chemist from 1960 to 1963. Earlier in his career, he was a chemical technician with Ajem Laboratories from 1956 to 1960.
Mr. Johnson was inspired to pursue a career in the field from an early age, having had a summer job as a lab technician cleaning glass products. He graduated high school a year early, already having become a chemical technician. He pursued an education with the University of Michigan, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1960. He later continued his studies with California State University, completing a certification in international business in 1990.
A respected voice in his areas, Mr. Johnson has been affiliated with a number of professional organizations. He is a member emeritus of the American Chemical Society, the Society of Cosmetic Chemists, and the American Oil Chemists Society. He has also been active with the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry, the National Association of Chemical Distributors, and the Junior Chamber International. A former member of the Chicago Manpower Area Planning Committee, he has served on the boards of director of the Lexard Corporation and the Chemical Distribution Network.
