With more than 35 years of professional experience, Dr. Valentekovich found much success as the vice president of operations at Careside, Inc., from 1999 to 2002. Prior to obtaining this role, she was active at Diagnostics Products Corporation as a product supervisor from 1990 to 1999 and the associate director of quality control since 1989. Dr. Valentekovich previously served as the technology director and an operations manager at Merrel, Inc., from 1987 to 1988, the vice president of technology at Innotron Diagnostic Corporation from 1983 to 1987 and the principal chemist at Beckman Instruments, Inc., from 1979 to 1983.
From 1974 to 1979, Dr. Valentekovich flourished as the director of quality assurance at the Nichols Institute. From 1972 to 1974, she worked as the head of radiochemistry at Curtis Nuclear Company. She previously excelled as the director of quality assurance at Cycle Chemical Company from 1968 to 1972 and as a research associate with the University of Southern California from 1967 to 1968. Dr. Valentekovich began her career with the University of Illinois, Urbana, from 1965 to 1967.
Dr. Valentekovich was inspired to pursue a career in the field from an early age, having been encouraged by her high school chemistry professor. She initially pursued an education with the University of Zagreb, where she obtained a Master of Science in chemical engineering in 1957. She concluded her studies with the aforementioned school in 1963, earning a Doctor of Philosophy in chemistry. Dr. Valentekovich is a member of the American Chemical Society and the American Association of Clinical Chemistry.
