Jose Torres-Labawld, PhD, President of IMSA, LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in management.

With more than 60 years of professional experience, Dr. Torres-Labawld has been the president of IMSA, LLC, since 1981. In addition to his primary role, he served as president of Tower Coffees, LLC, from 2002 to 2005 and he is a consultant and advisor for D’Angelo Coffee. He has also held a number of academic positions, including institutional research director at Hocking College from 1975 to 2002, having been director of general studies from 1973 to 1975.

From 1970 to 1971, Dr. Torres-Labawld was a research associate for the Mershon Center for International Security Studies at Ohio State University, and from 1965 to 1969, he was an instructor at Ohio University. Earlier in his career, he was a lecturer with Knox College in 1965 and Indiana University from 1963 to 1964, and he was a management official and administrator with the US State Department Point IV Program from 1959 to 1961.

Dr. Torres-Labawld first pursued an education with Inter-American University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in 1957. He continued his studies with Syracuse University, receiving a Master of Public Administration in 1959. He then joined the University of Notre Dame, completing postgraduate coursework from 1961 to 1962. He subsequently earned a PhD from Ohio State University in 1973. He later returned to his studies with Dartmouth College, completing postgraduate coursework from 1995 to 1996.

Throughout his career, Dr. Torres-Labawld has been recognized for his contributions. A Hocking College Scholar, he was named a Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Fellow by Syracuse University. He received an Honor Roll Certificate, the National WWII Museum gave him a National Leadership Award, and he was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor by President Barack Obama and an Ambassador of Freedom Medal by the Republic of South Korea Embassy. He has been featured in numerous honors publications, including multiple editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who in the World.
