With more than 50 years of professional experience as a realtor to his credit, Mr. Laurence prepared for his career at Diablo Valley College, where he graduated with an Associate of Arts in business in 1968. He holds myriad certifications, including as a Five Star Professional, a Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE), a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), a Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource (SFR), a Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) and a Seller Representative Specialist (SRS). Mr. Laurence is also a Graduate, REALTOR Institute (GRI), a member of the REALTORS Political Action Committee (RPAC) and holds a brokerage license.

In addition to his primary pursuits, Mr. Laurence has also been an active presence in his local politics, acting as a member of the City of Clayton’s city council for 16 years and serving as the mayor of Clayton, California, for three terms. He has additionally served as the president of the Chamber of Commerce. In 2017, he was recognized by his board of realtors as an excellent realtor for helping buyers and sellers with real estate. He was also named realtor emeritus and received a Realtor of the Year Award from Better Homes Realty. Prior to his professional pursuits, Mr. Laurence completed active duty military service in the U.S. Army Special Forces, also known as the Green Berets, in the Vietnam War.

Mr. Laurence began his career in real estate after purchasing two cheap houses upon returning from his military service. He resold one of the houses for a sizeable profit and, subsequently, decided to pursue the field as a career while attending law school. During his higher education, he lost interest in the law and realized that real estate was his passion. Since his start in the field half a century ago, he has enjoyed helping buyers realize the American dream of homeownership and he has watched the real estate profession grow into a respected, highly professional endeavor. Mr. Laurence maintains affiliation with multiple organizations, including the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Special Forces Association, and in the coming years, he plans to continue his current work.
