John C. Carter, Chief Credit Officer at Bank of the Ozarks, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements and leadership in banking.
With more than 10 years of professional experience, Mr. Carter has been chief credit officer at the Bank of the Ozarks since 2018, having been director of community banking since 2014. Prior to obtaining his current roles, he held a number of other positions with the organization, including Little Rock Market President from 2011 to 2014, senior vice president from 2010 to 2011 and vice president from 2009 to 2010. An active leader in his community, Mr. Carter has also served as a board member for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas.
Mr. Carter was inspired to pursue a career in the field from an early age, having been encouraged by an uncle who worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of Arkansas. He first pursued an education with Arkansas Technical University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in 2002. He continued his studies with the University of Arkansas Little Rock, earning a Master of Business Administration in 2005. Mr. Carter attributes much of his success to his hands on approach and to hard work.
