Michelle Gilchrist, Chief Executive Officer of the National Foundation for Transplants, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in fundraising.
With more than 30 years of professional experience, Ms. Gilchrist has been the chief executive officer of the National Foundation for Transplants since 2016, also serving as director of major gifts for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center since 2014. Prior to obtaining her current roles, she was the director of major gifts for the University of Texas at Arlington from 2012 to 2014 and the CONTACT Crisis Line from 2011 to 2012. Earlier in her career, she was senior director of development and operations manager for the United Way of Dallas and Community Health Charities from 2007 to 2011, and from 1994 to 2007 she was the manager of development for the United Way of the Midsouth.
Ms. Gilchrist began her career with the United States Marine Corps, serving to the rank of corporal as a small arms weapons repairman from 1988 to 1992. She then pursued an education with the University of Memphis, completing a Bachelor of Arts in professional studies and organizational leadership. She later continued her studies with the school, earning an Executive Master of Business Administration in 2017. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Fortune Brainstorm on Health, and the Forbes Nonprofit Leaders.
