Mr. Parcells chose his profession as an actuary because he recognized his interest in math and desired a career in the business field. However, he later discovered that he was more interested in underwriting. At the start of his career, he worked as an actuarial trainee for CNA Insurance in Chicago, further joining Sentry Insurance as an actuarial technician from 1980 to 1983. For the next two decades, he held executive positions with Northbrook P&C Insurance, Allstate Insurance, Apex Insurance, Kemper Group, Interstate Insurance Group, and Morgan Stanley. For his accomplishments in the field, Mr. Parcells received the Chairman’s Quality Award and the Business Insurance Marketing Hero Award from Allstate Insurance in the past.
Civically, Mr. Parcells has been involved with the Cambridge Forest Association, Santa Claus Anonymous, and Habitat for Humanity. To remain aware of changes in the industry, he maintains a professional relationship with the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter Society, to which he has served as the vice president, secretary, treasurer, and as the chairman. In the coming years, Mr. Parcells would like to become vice president of his current company, with aspirations to retire at the age of 70. He would also like to be remembered as a reliable person and as someone people enjoyed working with.
