Teresa Jensen White, CFP, Chief Executive Officer and Owner at Money Managers Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements and leadership in finance management.
After having her own life saved by a financial planner, Ms. White is now the chief executive officer of Money Managers Inc. since 1981. She began her professional career as the vice president of the Outdoor Sports Center in San Antonio in 1968, remaining in this position until 1973 before she taught at the New Age School from 1973 to 1976. During this time, she organized and negotiated for the National Maritime Union in Galveston, Texas. She then was an agent and sales manager at B&B Associates for one year, and a private marketing consultant in the San Antonio area from 1978 to 1980, among several other roles. In preparation for her career, Ms. White pursued a formal education at the University of the Incarnate Word, completing coursework between 1965 and 1966. She then attended San Antonio College from 1966 to 1967, and became a registered investment adviser for the Securities and Exchange Commission. Since 1984, she has also been a certified financial planner (CFP) through the College for Financial Planning in Denver.
Throughout her career, Ms. White wrote detailed written policies and procedures, and manuals with turnkey systems for practice management for client-centric, all referral, independent registered investment advisers and comprehensive financial planning. Active in her local community, she serves on the boards for the See the Change Educational Foundation and the Army Residence Community. She was previously a member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Alamo Area in 1981, later serving on its board of directors in 1985. Outside of her primary trade, Ms. White maintains involvement with the Institute of Certified Financial Planners as state chairman since 1991. She also remains affiliated with the Financial Planners Association, the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, the Association for the Management of Innovation and the Institute of Certified Financial Planners.
In light of all she has accomplished, Ms. White received a presidential citation from the Chamber of Commerce in 1982 and was twice named Business Woman of the Year for Texas by the National Republican Congressional Committee business advisory council from 2003 to 2004. Likewise, she was named a Five Star Wealth Adviser by the Central Texas region of Texas Monthly in 2010, and her company was named among the 25 Largest Financial Planning and Advisory Firms between 2010 and 2017. Furthermore, she was selected for inclusion in the third edition of Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America, the 17th edition of Who’s Who in the World, the 18th edition of Who’s Who of American Women, the 25th edition of Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, and numerous editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Industry and Who’s Who in America. Moving forward, Ms. White plans to transition to chairman of her firm and ease into retirement. The highlight of her career has been discovering that obstacles are just problems waiting to be solved.
