Always having an interest in computers and information technology, Ms. Luttrell is a business and systems analyst, IT specialist and app/web developer for the U.S. Census Bureau since 2009. She first began her professional career at the U.S. Census Bureau’s National Processing Center in Indiana as a data transcriber in 1991, remaining in this position for eight years before moving up the ranks to lead peripheral equipment operator from 1999 to 2003, a statistical assistant from 2007 to 2008 and IT specialist since 2008. In preparation for her career, she pursued a formal education at American InterContinental University in Schaumburg, Illinois, where she attained a Bachelor of Science in information technology in 2008. Ms. Luttrell also served as the Treasurer of AFGE Local 1438 in 2007, and Executive Vice President of AFGE Council 241 in 2011.

In light of her exceptional undertakings, Ms. Luttrell earned the National Processing Center’s Vision Award in 2016 and received the Department of Commerce’s Bronze Medal Award from the U.S. Census Bureau in 2019. Moving forward, she plans to retire within the next year or two. Instead of “sticking her toes in the sand,” she plans to find a new breakthrough in her career and change directions, although she is currently unsure of the direction. Ms. Luttrell currently has a small farm that she wants to become self-sustainable. She also has a small business idea, where she will be able to give back to the community in a philanthropist business type venture. Likewise, she would like to take care of some things on her bucket list such as traveling.
