Alfred Elkins, Retired Executive at Mutual of America, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in insurance.

Now retired, Mr. Elkins flourished with Mutual of America for nearly 30 years. At the start of his tenure, he served as a corporate proofreader from 1985 to 1996. Soon thereafter, he assumed the position of a documents file administrator for 15 years. Furthermore, he served as a computer operator in the filling department of Mutual of American from 2011 until his retirement in 2012. Additionally, he has worked as a poet laureate for Mutual of America, composing poems for special occasions within the company. Poetry has always been his passion, and through Mutual of America, he was able to foster that love.

Prior to the start of his career, Mr. Elkins earned a Bachelor of Arts from Lehman College in 1969. To remain aware of changes in the field, he maintains affiliated with the American Academy of Poets, the American History Association and the Smithsonian Institution. As a renowned writer, he has contributed his poetry to more than 50 anthologies and been honored on many occasions for his work. In a profession filled with highlights, one of Mr. Elkins proudest was receiving the Golden Poet Trophy Award from the World of Poetry in 1991. Likewise, he was awarded through the National Library of Poetry in 1994 and won the Editor’s Choice Award through the International Library of Poetry in 2004.
