Nancy Green, Director at LaFollette Public Library, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in library management.
For Ms. Green, all roads lead to working in the library system. She always loved libraries and began working in them during her study periods. While working her first job as a library assistant, guests of the library would commend her on her work and noted that someday she would be leading one. Fueled by this passion, she garnered academic experience by studying public library management at Austin-Peay University and at Roane State Community College. She holds a certification in Public Library Management. Prior to serving as the Director of LaFollette Public Library, she leveraged her management skills as the office manager and secretary of Wynn-Habersham School.
Ms. Green has overseen many changes throughout her tenure as the director since 1989, but her love for community, especially the children, remain. One of the achievements she is most proud of spearheading the campaign to build a bigger and better library for LaFollette. In addition to continuing running the library, Ms. Green endeavors to serve in membership roles with organizations she has already been involved with. These include the Tennessee Librarian Association, the Campbell Chambers of Commerce, the Campbell Cultural Coalition, Lion’s Club, the Christian Women’s Connection, and the LaFollette Book Club among many others.
