Ms. Wales started in architecture working for a community development department. She was the total sum project manager on each project. What she is doing now was a natural progression of her career. To get there, she first earned a Bachelor of Arts in environmental design, architectural design and construction from Texas A&M University in 1978.
In the 1980s, Ms. Wales worked for a city community development department for the city of College Station, Texas. She was project manager, assisting those in poverty to get indoor plumbing, hot/cold running water, wall heaters, patched holes in walls and floors, reframed walls and roofs, carpeting, vinyl floors, insulated, sheetrock and painted the walls at no cost to the individual. Ms. Wales became an assistant project manager with Stanford Construction Inc. in 2014, remaining until 2015. From there, she joined Alta General Contractors Inc. in 2015 as an assistant project manager, staying for a year. In 2016, Ms. Wales took the position of assistant project manager with TX Morrow Construction Inc., where she worked until 2020. She then became an assistant project manager with Cardinal Construction and remains with them to this day. In her spare time, she volunteers at a home for disadvantaged women and children. As a testament to her success, Ms. Wales has been inducted as a member of the National Association of Professional Women and as an associate member and treasurer of AIA.
