Alec Works, Retired Internal Auditor, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in auditing.
Supported by an impressive educational background, Mr. Works lead a successful career in accounting and auditing for more than 40 years. Before embarking on his professional journey, he pursued a formal education at Grove City College and earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with cum laude honors in 1974. Moreover, he concluded his academic efforts with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Akron in 1979.
Mr. Works began his tenure with Ohio Edison Co., as a technician in 1974. Five years later, he progressed to a technologist, before advancing to an associate rate analyst by 1980. As he continued with the aforementioned company, Mr. Works held the posts of a rate analyst and later, an internal auditor until his retirement in 2016. Civically, he contributed as an advisor for the Junior Achievement of North Central Ohio, a deacon for Westminster Presbyterian Church, and a member of the planning committee for the Joint Presbyterian Worship Service for many years.
To remain aware of changes in the field of accounting, Mr. Works maintains affiliation with the Institute of Management Accountants, American Scientific Affiliation, and The Institute of Internal Auditors. In the coming years, he hopes to travel, downsize and participate in volunteer work. During his spare time, Mr. Works enjoys golfing, skiing, classical music, and playing the oboe.
