Anthony Frank Verano, Retired Banker, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in banking and finance.
Right out of high school, Mr. Verano knew he wanted to pursue finance. In the years following his time with the United States Navy, he began his journey to professional success. Over the years, he completed courses at the American Institute of Banking, the Bank Administration Institute at the University of Washington, RCA Programmers School, Burroughs Programmers School, and the New Jersey Bankers Data Processing School. He attributes his success to a lot of hard work.
Early in his career, Mr. Verano worked with the Senior County Trust Company. In 1962, he relocated to the State National Bank of Connecticut as an auditor. He remained there until 1979 and later relocated to Gateway Bank in Newtown, Connecticut. There, his initial title was vice president. He quickly advanced to become an auditor and then senior vice president auditor. He considers these promotions to be the highlights of his career. In 1996, he retired. However, he continues to work with the State National Bank of Connecticut and the Connecticut Bank and Trust Company. Outside of the bank, Mr. Verano spent several years teaching for the American Institute of Banking. In light of his numerous accomplishments, he is featured in several editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the East, and Who’s Who in the World.
