Jean E. Hook, Writer, Educator, and Editor at The Boeing Company, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership.
Ms. Hook grew up in a family of teachers, which inspired her to pursue the industry. She then attended Marion College for her undergraduate studies, majoring in mathematics and Spanish. She graduated in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts, proceeding to attend Ball State University. There, she earned a Master’s in education. For 20 years, she worked successfully as a programming language teacher.
While she enjoyed her time as a teacher, Ms. Hook transitioned out of the classroom after being asked to work on a proposal by some of her colleagues. Her expertise in writing on a specific software program assisted these colleagues greatly, and, in the process of helping them, Ms. Hook taught them a great deal about proposal writing. In turn, she learned all about supply chains, which interested her. She then spent some time working on the Atlas Launch Team for Lockheed Martin. Currently, she is employed as a writer and editor for The Boeing Company. In recognition of her many accomplishments, Boeing awarded her the Pride at Boeing Points Award in 2019. In the next five years, Ms. Hook sees herself retiring and potentially relocating to Florida.
