Rod Taverna, Chief Executive Officer at Freedom Financial, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in financial services.
Supported by more than 50 years of experience, Mr. Taverna has been lauded as a financial services executive and a retiree of the United States Marine Corps. Prior to the start of his illustrious career, he pursued a formal education at the University of Missouri and earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1969. He later received a Master of Business Administration in finance from National University in 1988.
Mr. Taverna began his career with the U.S. Marine Corps as a commissioned second lieutenant. He contributed as a supply officer for Marine Air Support Squadron 3 and the Central Services Agency in Da Nang, Vietnam, from 1970 until 1971. He further progressed to a support officer at the Marine Headquarters Recruit Depot in Paris Island, South Carolina, between 1972 and 1975, before relocating to Marine Barracks, Treasure Island, California, for another two years. From 1977 to 1988, he moved through the ranks of a commissioned lieutenant and a support officer in marine bases located in San Francisco, Hawaii, and Camp Pendleton, until his retirement from the force in 1989.
Upon retiring from the Marine Corps., Mr. Taverna became the president of the Freedom Financial Group, where he would remain through 2000. Prior to this appointment, he excelled as a branch manager for WMA Securities Incorporated, for three years and a senior field director for Premier Financial America between 1997 and 2000. Since 2000, Mr. Taverna has flourished as the chief executive officer of Freedom Financial Solutions, Incorporated.
Additionally, he is the founder of Smart Consumer Group and has served in the capacity of chief executive officer for Freedom Financial Solutions Inc., since 2000. Through those startup ventures, Mr. Taverna provides educational lectures to marines around the country on basic ways to manage finances and implemented human resource options for small to medium-sized business employees.
Outside of work, Mr. Taverna enjoys computers, skiing, racquetball and scuba diving in his spare time. In the coming years, he plans to continue growing professionally and working from his home office.
