James A. Skidmore Jr., Chairman, and CEO at Science Management Corporation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in executive management.

The Chairman and CEO of Science Management Corporation since 1972, Mr. Skidmore began his professional career upon receiving a BA in Economics from Muhlenberg College in 1954. The computer, engineering, technology, and healthcare services company executive commenced his career with the New Jersey Bell Telephone Co. as a Customer Sales Representative and rose to District and Division Sales Manager from 1957 to 1965, National President, U.S. JC of C and went on to serve as Assistant to the President for Public Affairs of Pepsi Co. Inc. from 1967 to 1969. Mr. Skidmore notably served as assistant to the President of the U.S., having worked for six presidents including Richard Nixon, Lyndon B. Johnson, Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, George H.W. Bush and more. Additionally, from 1969 to 1971, Mr. Skidmore was the Vice President, promoted to President, of Handy Associates. His wealth of expertise has been tapped in such positions while serving as a Director, of the Coca Cola Bottling Company from 1980 to 1985. Furthermore, Mr. Skidmore has extensive experience among insurance and banking companies, including various leadership roles with Horizon Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Franklin State Bank and United Jersey Bank – Summit Bank. He has also served as chair of Seicom Computers for JVC Seiko-Hattori.

Looking back on his career, Mr. Skidmore attributes his success to hard work, determination, and commitment. He believes he learned the core of these values while serving and participating in Athletics, the Junior Chamber of Commerce, and as a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves from 1952 to 1962, while serving Active Duty 1954 – 1957. In his various endeavors, Mr. Skidmore discovered the importance of community service and in 1985, he was the recipient of the Private Sector Initiative Award and National Volunteer Award from President Reagan in addition to various other accolades and recognitions. Among his countless accolades, some of the highest honors he has received has been the Decorated Order of St. John (England) and being honored as one of the top 10 Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) in the Nation, on national television. Mr. Skidmore held memberships with the New Jersey State Chamber of Commerce, U.S. Junior Chamber of Commerce, and the Muhlenberg College Alumni Association. To attest to his legacy, Mr. Skidmore and his accomplishments can also be found in various editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the East.
