Gary R. Rodgers, Senior Manager at Lockheed Martin, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in computer science.
Mr. Rodgers pursued computer science at the recommendation of a former teacher. He was selected for the Executive Leadership and Strategies Program at Carnegie Mellon University, after earning a Bachelor in Science in computer science from Penn State University. In the following years, he found a passion for the field and earned a PMP certification, as well as an ITIL v3 certification. In 1986, he was hired as the president of Info*Share Inc. He remained in that role until 1993, later transitioning into the role Program Manager of General Electric. In 1996, Mr. Rodgers began working with Lockheed Martin as the manager of headquarters services and the deputy program manager. This position was the start of a lifelong partnership, as he went on to hold numerous titles, including senior manager of program management, portfolio manager, and senior IT program manager. Currently, Mr. Rodgers is the senior manager of the GridStar Software Product Line.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Rodgers has pursued myriad civic ventures. From 2006 until 2018, he was the assistant scoutmaster for Troop 316 of the Boy Scouts of America. He additionally participated in the board of directors for FIRST North Carolina. Since 2016, he has been acting as the vice-chairman and then chairman on the board of directors for Research Triangle High School. Further, he has been the unit commissioner of the Occonneechee Council since 2018. In recognition of his efforts, he earned the United States President’s Volunteer Service Award consistently from 2006 until 2019. In the future, Mr. Rodgers hopes to continue working, though he may wind down professionally in some capacity. However, he would like to remain relevant in his non-profit endeavors.
