Title: CEO, Founder
Company: The Way Organization
Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States
Kevin Alton, CEO, President and Founder of The Way Organization, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in community service.
In 2008, Mr. Alton’s younger brother, Brandon Alton, was a fatal victim of gun violence at the hands of a 15-year-old boy. For months, Mr. Alton had trouble accepting and coping with the tragic loss of his brother. One year later, he had a daughter and needed to find the strength to get up and provide for his daughter. He first received a job at a summer camp and continued to build and branch off of the field until finally forming his own organizations.
Since 2015, Mr. Alton has flourished as the chief executive officer, founder and president of The Way Organization. Additionally, he serves as the president of the Bears Youth Athletic Association and as a behavioral specialist for Brashear High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for one decade. Prior to these appointments, he served in the U.S. Military and studied at the Perry Traditional Academy in 1999. Throughout the duration of Mr. Alton’s career, it was the mentoring of young African American kids in the inner cities of Pittsburgh that has been a highlight for him.
For his accomplishments in the field, Mr. Alton has been the recipient of the Neighborhood Superstar Award and the South Pittsburgh Community Leader Award in 2018. Additionally, he was presented the Coro Leadership Award in 2017 and was honored in the New Pittsburgh Courier, among 50 other men of excellence. In the coming years, Mr. Alton hopes to see his program become incorporated with the schools in Pittsburgh, and eventually nationwide. He would also like to own a school and help kids between the years of kindergarten and 12th grade.
