Johana Gladis Hernandez, Founder and Designer at GLAUDI by Johana Hernandez, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in fashion design.
As a child, Ms. Hernandez would always watch her parents work as they sewed for many popular clothing companies, including Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. Their influence inspired Ms. Hernandez to get creative and draw up all sorts of designs, most of which were dresses. When it came time for her to attend college, she enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and was offered a merchandising internship during her first quarter as a student. After earning an Associate of Arts in merchandise product development with honors, Ms. Hernandez was hired as a head designer at only 19 years old.
During her time working with Bebina Jeans, Ms. Hernandez traveled around the globe designing and offering her fashion eye and expertise. In the following years, she gained more experience with several established companies, including Cappuccino Jeans, HL Clothing Company, Denim Head, Fortune Fashions and Jerry Leigh Entertainment Apparel. In 2008, Ms. Hernandez began working with Seven7 Jeans as a denim and knit designer. She remains there today, though she has since become an entrepreneur as well as a designer. In 2011, she founded GLAUDI by Johana Hernandez. Ms. Hernandez was the first American-Salvadoran to ever show in Paris during fashion week, which was one of the highlights of her career. In 2020, she will be launching her men’s custom suit collection. Looking ahead in her career, Ms. Hernandez hopes to continue to grow her brand and potentially become a well known international name in the coming years.
