Now backed by several decades of experience in the oil and gas industry, Mr. Gooding has been the notable owner of GOP Equipment Holdings LLC since 2018. Additionally, since 2020, he has served as the vice president of sales for XTRM Gate Valves and MHWirth. Mr. Gooding attended the Dulles International Trade School and Manufacturing Technology Vocational School from 1971 to 1974, while also describing himself as a mostly self-taught oil field hand.

Prior to his current roles, Mr. Gooding was the director of international business development for Cortec LLC from 2016 to 2019. In this role, he increased international sales by 30 percent, helped the Houston team gain orders for MPD manifolds to Diamond Offshore and Transocean and placed key agents in hot regions, such as Saudi Arabia, Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates. He had also served as vice president of business and product development for the National Oilwell Varco from 2013 to 2016 and for Robbins & Myers from 2012 to 2013.

In the early years of his career, Mr. Gooding was the vice president of Superior Oilfield Products from 1984 to 1994, as well as the general manager of Hydril from 1994 to 2000 and T3 Energy Services from 2000 to 2004. He went on to serve T3 Energy Services as vice president of the pressure control group for four years until 2008 and vice president of the aftermarket from 2008 to 2011. Subsequently, Mr. Gooding was the vice president of Global Energy Services in 2011 and 2012.

In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Mr. Gooding is affiliated with the American Petroleum Institute, with which he remains active as a committee member. He attributes the success of his career to helping people get what they needed in relation to oil and gas necessities. Looking toward the future, Mr. Gooding intends to experience the continued growth and success of his career until he reaches retirement. His advice to those looking to find success in his profession is to work hard, listen to supervisors and be happy with your progress.
