Richard M. Solomon, Director of Safety and Security at Hilton Grand Vacations Waikoloa, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in security.
Mr. Solomon has enjoyed helping others for as long as he can remember. In 1985, he began working in security with Corrections, going on to become the founder of High Regency Waikoloa in 1988. By 1993, he began working with the Hilton Waikoloa, which segued to his position as director of safety and security at Hilton Grand Vacations Waikoloa. He has remained in that position since 2010, continuing to keep all the hotel visitors safe and comfortable during their time in Hawaii. Outside of his primary roles, Mr. Solomon has been a CPR, AED, and First Aid instructor for ten years. He additionally maintains affiliation with the Hawaii Safety and Security Professional Association.
Mr. Solomon attributes his success to being passionate about his field of work. Throughout his years of working, he has saved three lives, all of which were a result of his exceptional CPR skills. He considers each of these moments to have been among the highlights of his career. In the future, Mr. Solomon hopes to participate in bringing up the new generation of security professionals. He is consistently rewarded by training inexperienced individuals. He loves to share his experiences, all of which prove to be helpful to the aspiring security guards. He has seen many individuals grow into the profession and become very successful, which is a truly fulfilling process in which to participate. Most recently, Mr. Solomon has been working through the COVID-19 pandemic by providing guidance to hotel guests and staff during an unprecedented time.
