A graduate of the University of California Los Angeles, Ms. Cook aimed to work to provide for her family. For the first few years of her professional journey, she took on a number of different roles. From 1965 until 1975, she worked in the State Department of Foreign Service, going on to teach kindergarten in the American Nicaraguan School in Managua, Nicaragua the next year. In the following years, she explored real estate. It was not until 1985 that Ms. Cook found her place in an executive management role, residing as the vice president of International Capital Management in Beverley Hills, California. As she gained experience, she gradually took on positions of greater status. By 1994, she had accepted the role of an investment advisor and personal financial planner at IDS/American Express. Currently, Ms. Cook is the administrative assistant at Thornton Corporation, where she has been demonstrating consistent success since 2004.

As a former member of numerous board organizations, Ms. Cook maintains affiliation with several professional organizations within her industry. She has been active with the American Association of University Women, the National Organization of Women, the League of Women Voters, the National Women’s Political Caucus and the English Speaking Union. Ms. Cook considers her professional history to be filled with many highlights because she was able to take all of the opportunities that came her way and mold them into one successful career.

Outside of her primary endeavors, Ms. Cook is additionally proud of her personal accomplishments. She has been married to her husband since 1982 and the couple shares four children and eight grandchildren, all of whom she attributes her success. She sought professional success to give them a comfortable life, which encouraged her to never give up. In light of her many accomplishments, Ms. Cook is also featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who of American Women, as well as the 28th edition of Who’s Who in Finance and Industry.
