Myra L. Frank Wood, Consultant and Co-Owner at Second Dawn LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in consultancy.
Certified in banking by the Institute for Finance Education in Augusta, Georgia, since 1988, Ms. Wood has served as a consultant and co-owner of Second Dawn LLC, accompanied by her husband Frederick, since 2000. Alongside this role, she has also been a consultant for Life Wave in Greer, South Carolina. Interested in learning from a young age, Ms. Wood has also boasted an innate interest in helping others, including individuals, organizations and societies. Since that time, she has journeyed down several diversified career paths that have been conjoined by her enjoyment of taking on challenges.
Finding consultancy to be the highlight of her career, Ms. Wood previously held several roles in the consulting industry, as well as in event planning, manufacturing, finance, counseling, marketing and sales. At the inception of her career in 1973, she was a therapist for the South Carolina Department of Corrections, where she later served as an acting principal and college coordinator until 1978. From there, she became the owner and operator of Carolina Coast Seafood for two years before serving as a teller and savings counselor for Security Federal Savings and Loans until 1983. Moving on to become a customer service representative for Bankers First Savings and Loans, for whom she also served as manager of branch administration, Ms. Wood later served such corporations as First Federal Savings Bank, RAH Systems, Details & More and Mauldin before attaining her current positions.
Drawing upon a Bachelor of Arts in French and English from Erskine College in 1972, Ms. Wood has also been a lecturer for the Business and Professional Women’s Club. With her eclectic background, she has maintained affiliation with the South Carolina Association of Social Workers and South Carolina Education Teachers Association. Civically involved as well, she sat on the board of directors of the Quest Society in Greenville, South Carolina from 1992 to 1995, and was a member of the hospice committee for the American Cancer Society in 1981. Furthermore, she has volunteered for the First Presbyterian Church of South Carolina and lectured at St. John’s United Methodist Church in 1981 and 1982.
A prolific writer, Ms. Wood has been a book review writer for, “A Class Act” since 1996. Involved in her community theatre, she also appeared with the Aiken Community Theatre in 1981 and is a member of the Writer’s Roundtable. To the next generation of professionals, Ms. Wood advises being willing to invest in subjects that greatly interest you, even at times when you believe you may not be interested in them. To attest to her legacy, Ms. Wood has also been highlighted in Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of American Women. Ms. Wood has been married to her husband since 1999 and they share one child, Harleigh.
