Following his education in Caddo Parish schools, Mr. Washington graduated from Captain Shreve High School. Continuing his educational path, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in business from Northwestern State University in 2006. He concluded his academic efforts with a Master of Business Administration from Strayer University in 2009, which fueled his passion to grow and better serve the transportation industry, as well as his own professional abilities.

Most recently in his career, Mr. Washington has excelled as the president and chief executive officer of Metro Management & Associates. Additionally, he has flourished as the general manager of SporTran, Shreveport Transit Management Inc, since 2013. Prior to his current roles, Mr. Washington served the aforementioned company in the position of assistant general manager. Additionally, between 2004 and 2011, Mr. Washington was an employee of Loomis Armored.

SporTran is the public transit system for urbanized areas of Shreveport-Bossier City in Louisiana. Under Mr. Washington’s leadership, SporTran was notably recognized as the Route Match Urban Transit System of the Year. Likewise, he has received the Southwest Transit President’s Award, the Mayor’s 2018 Director of the Year Award and the Minority Business Opportunity Top Business Award in 2018. Civically, he dedicates his time as the president of the Louisiana Transit Association and as vice president of the Southwest Transit Association. In the coming years, Mr. Washington would like to continue to grow in the transit industry and also find ways to present more opportunities in his community.
