Company: Spartan Forest Products
Location: Greensboro, North Carolina, United States
Charles Broadway, President at Spartan Forest Products, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in wholesale lumber.
Mr. Broadway graduated from Wake Forest University with a Bachelor of Arts in business. Shortly afterward, he began working for a corporate business, though he soon realized that was not where he belonged. In 1989, he got a position at a lumber company. He enjoyed the work, but, unfortunately, the company closed shortly after he was hired. It was then that he decided to open his own lumber company. He opened Spartan Forest Products in 1990 and has remained there since, demonstrating consistent success in his role of president.
A member of the National Lumber Group, Mr. Broadway attributes much of his success to pure luck. He feels he has become so accomplished as a result of the great opportunities that came his way, as well as the grace of God. In 1995, he earned the IMC 500 Reward in recognition of his myriad achievements. Looking toward the future, Mr. Broadway plans to continue serving the lumber industry with his business. He loves his work, and he does not see himself retiring any time soon.
Civically, Mr. Broadway remains active by volunteering with the Make a Wish Foundation and one of his local hospices. He is additionally a board member for the Greensboro Urban Ministries. In the coming years, he would love to complete even more volunteer work, as he cherishes his ability to give back to his community in any way he can. Mr. Broadway also hopes to spend more time with his two children and three grandchildren.
