William Keith Cummins, Retired General Supervisor at the Delphi Division of General Motors, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in management.
Born and raised in Piqua, Ohio, Mr. Cummins grew up as a distinguished scholar and athlete. He excelled in many sports, serving as the captain of the football team and as the defensive MVP of the basketball team. Upon his graduation from high school, he was recruited by Cornell University with the prospect of a spot on their football team. There, he earned a Bachelor of Science in engineering and had also met his wife, Kimberly, as an undergraduate. In the following years, Mr. Cummins received a multitude of offers to further his career as a football player. However, his career aspirations had changed after getting married. He sought a secure job that would allow him to start a family and be present in his children’s lives. He found exactly what he was looking for when General Motors recruited him as their general supervisor.
From 1970 until his retirement in 2008, Mr. Cummins was distinguished in his role with the Delphi Division of General Motors. Throughout his career, he completed contract work overseas and contributed civically as the former chairman of United Way in Dayton, Ohio. Looking back on his illustrious career, Mr. Cummins believes much of his success came from his sound Christian upbringing. He believes his strong work ethic and drive to succeed were a direct result of the values instilled in him by his parents. For Mr. Cummins, the most rewarding part of his work was accomplishing each task that came his way with confidence and stride.
While looking toward the future, Mr. Cummins cannot help but reflect on his past travels. Though he cherishes his time with his children and grandchildren, he will always feel drawn to see the world. He has previously lived in China and South America, which were both wonderful experiences. Further, he has visited Poland and Austria. He has always enjoyed the experience of adapting to a foreign culture, though he also remains interested in the ventures of the United States. In the coming years, Mr. Cummins hopes to see the country succeed in the coming years.
