Raymond W. Govett, GeolEng, MGeol, PhD, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in geology and engineering.
Growing up in an Oklahoma town with two major oil companies, Dr. Govett was exposed to the oil and gas businesses throughout his youth. When it came time for him to pursue a formal education, he attended the Colorado School of Mines, where he earned a degree in professional engineering. He then acquired a Master’s degree and a Doctor of Philosophy in geology, both of which came from the University of Oklahoma. After graduating, Mr. Govett embarked on his quest for professional success. For 50 years, he excelled as a consulting geologist and engineer in the oil and gas industry, specializing in petroleum. In 1972, Mr. Govett culminated his illustrious career by retiring.
An honorary member of the Corpus Christi Geological Society, Mr. Govett continues to work on various projects with the organization despite his retirement. To add to his responsibilities outside of engineer, in 2010, he was active with the scholarship committee at his local church. Reflecting on his career success, Mr. Govett credits his hard work and dedication to his many years of learning, as well as honorable professors and mentors. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren.
