Mark Payne, Chief Operating Officer at Breville Australia, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in consumer and food industries.
From watching his father excel as a business owner in Houston, Mr. Payne was able to learn all of the dimensions of business in regards to making, buying, operations, and dealing with bankers and clients. With a future in the world of business in his sights, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration in quantitative business analysis from Baylor University in Waco, Texas in 1990. Today, he holds nearly 30 years of experience in the consumer, media, information technology, chemical, and food industries. In all of his endeavors, Mr. Payne lives and works by his motto, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Notably, since 2015, Mr. Payne has served as the chief operating officer of Breville Australia in Torrance, California. Specializing in designing and marketing electrical consumer appliances, the company works with espresso machines, citrus presses, grills, juicers, toasters, kettles, vacuum cleaners, sandwich makers, rice cookers, heating and cooling products, electric shavers, irons, cookware, and cutlery. In addition to his primary endeavor, Mr. Payne is also the founder of Farm League Park and is an active member of his local church. In 2007, he published his book, “Make the Numbers, Don’t Chase the Numbers.”
Upon spearheading his career after his collegiate years, Mr. Payne served as a manager of operations at Uncle Ben’s Rice, an M&M Mars Company, from 1991 to 1998. Moving on, he was the executive director of operations at Compaq/HP from 1998 to 2002 and the director of product development at Symphony RPM from 2002 to 2003. For the next three years, he was the vice president of worldwide operations for Polaroid, in which he and his staff were able to get Polaroid out of bankruptcy in 8 months. Similarly, he served Linksys, a Cisco Company, from 2006 to 2010 as vice president of worldwide operations and systems and processes. Finally, Mr. Payne was the chief operating officer of the Yell Group from 2011 to 2014 and the president of the Texas Youth Sports Marketing Group from 2014 to 2017.
Boasting great success throughout his career, Mr. Payne was the recipient of the Ventana Research Performance Leadership Award for Best Operations and Operational Excellence in 2009 and 2007, respectively. Additionally, in 2008, he was granted the APICS Technology Partnership Award, as well as named to the Managing Automation Top 50 and Supply and Demand Executive Pro to Know. Mr. Payne attributes his success to God for laying his journey out for him, as well as his own motivation and persistence. In five years’ time, he hopes to be settled into retirement, as his career has been very fortunate to him.
