George Towner has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in technical writing.
Mr. Towner first pursued a formal education at the University of California. In 1955, he earned a Bachelor of Arts, which was followed by a Master of Arts one year later. In 1958, he began his career as an assistant director at the Kaiser Foundation. In the years that followed, he explored positions with the Advanced Instrument Corporation, Berkeley Instruments, and Towner Systems Corporations. In 1987, Mr. Towner was hired as a senior writer for Apple Incorporated. In this role, he excelled until he retired in 2018.
Reflecting on his success, Mr. Towner credits his open-minded nature. Outside of his business ventures, he is a published author. His most recent book, “Thinking Like a Computer,” was published in 2020. Some other notable titles to his name include “Digital Reality,” “The Reality of Knowledge,” and “Processes of Knowledge.” He additionally maintains affiliation with the Society of Technical Communication, the Association of Computing Machinery, and Mensa. As a testament to his myriad accomplishments, Mr. Towner is featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in the West.”
