George Wade Bevier, FCSI, CCS, LEED AP BD+C, SCIPa, USGBC, Construction Specifications Manager and Consultant at SmithGroup, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in architecture.

Mr. Bevier commenced his career working as a commissary manager for Everybody’s Incorporated, a local Virginia restaurant group. Starting in an entry-level position, he quickly worked his way up to higher-level managerial roles. However, his time in the restaurant industry concluded after he decided to pursue photography. At the time, Mr. Bevier had already earned photography certifications from the Center for the Photographic Arts. As a certified photographer, he began taking photos in Central America at his family’s resort. While he enjoyed the work, he ultimately felt the need to explore alternate career paths. In 1999, Mr. Bevier found himself working in architecture after consulting with a temporary agency. Although he had no prior experience in the field, he quickly demonstrated a natural aptitude for the work. For the next five years, he familiarized himself with architecture as the specifications coordinator for Boney Architects. In the years that followed, Mr. Bevier worked with Schenkel & Schultz, Incorporated, SFL + Architects and GWB Consulting, LLC. Currently, he is excelling as the construction specifications manager at SmithGroup, where he has been since 2011.

Outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Bevier has pursued a multitude of civic ventures throughout his career. From 2012 until 2014, he served as the Southeast region’s president-elect for the Construction Specifications Institute. Presently, he is upholding the role of director-at-large of the national board for the Professional Association. An active member of his industry, Mr. Bevier maintains affiliation with the Audubon Society, U.S. Green Building Council and the Professional Association. Looking towards the future, he hopes to become a beneficial resource for building documentation and coordination. Further, he would like to continue working towards creating a sustainable and strong environment.
