Robert Henry Gast Jr., Retired Consultant, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in engineering.
Having accrued more than 30 years of experience in his field, Mr. Gast most recently served Steven Myers & Associates as a consultant from 2005 to 2008. An IT security consultant for three years prior, he was also the manager of Certicom Corp from 2000 to 2002. He was also the director of reconnaissance program development for Lockheed Martin from 1996 to 2000 and an aerospace program manager for Loral WDL from 1989 to 1996. Earlier in his career, Mr. Gast served the Wright Patterson Air Force Base Aeronautical Systems Division as a U-2/TR-1 system program director from 1982 to 1989 and as an electrical engineer from 1975 to 1980. Likewise, from 1980 to 1982, he was vice president of Arjay Construction Co. Presently, Mr. Gast maintains affiliation with the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the American Radio Relay League.
Privileged to serve as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force between 1970 and 1977, Mr. Gast began his military career as an instructor pilot in the T-38 and subsequently flew transport aircraft with the Air National Guard. He also notably excelled as a scientific and technical intelligence support officer between 1982 and 1998 with the Air Intelligence Agency as an Air Force reservist, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. Notably, he was named Outstanding Reservist of the Year by the Air Intelligence Agency in 1995. Mr. Gast received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Ohio State University in 1970 and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Dayton in 1982. He is a 1988 graduate of Defense Systems Management at Defense Acquisition College and 1993 graduate of the Air Command and Staff College at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama. He went on to obtain an Associate of Arts in music from Las Positas College in 2010. To attest to his legacy, Mr. Gast can also be found in the 23rd edition of Who’s Who in the West.
